“Uh-oh”

That’s how many months Caroline has been here.

I’m shocked by that.

She has become super mobile and she’s getting a little difficult to keep up with. I love it.

I’m really sad that summer is over. It’s my favorite time of year, and it was fantastic watching Caroline experience all new kinds of fun.

Eating real food, swimming, and climbing everything.

So far, 6 months is my favorite.

Besides Pinterest, this is my new favorite website. Polyvore.com allows you to put together fun outfits from stores you might never visit. Some people might then go and buy the newly designed outfit, but I cannot afford most of what I’ve picked out. Still having fun though!

You may remember her from the TLC show Trading Spaces. I remember that show because we watched it in college everyday at 4:00 before we walked to the dining hall at 5:00 for the early bird special. Just kidding. There was no early bird special. We just went to dinner every afternoon at 5:00 because we wanted to. We were hungry.

ANYway… I remember Genevieve from Trading Spaces and I got excited when I saw that she had a show on HGTV. It’s called Dear Genevieve. People write her emails asking her to redo a room in their house and she designs AMAZING rooms for them. I want to live in every room she has designed on the show, so I’m ready for her to come redo my entire house.

She uses tile like this for a kitchen backsplash.

She used big hunks of wood for coffee tables and kitchen tables like this one.

Isn’t she amazing?!

I can’t even really describe what my life has been like over the past two months, but I’ll try. Hectic, exciting, confusing, fun – a total whirlwind.

If I had to describe what we’ve learned about her so far so far she is sleepy, super happy, and a little sneezy. Sounds like I’m naming the 7 dwarfs…

We’ve spent the past two months introducing Caroline to our little world. She’s been to our favorite restaurants, stores, parks, and visited some of our favorite people. The goal this summer is to do lots of exciting things with her for the first time. First up: swimming!

I feel like I’m living a whole new life and I love it!

Caroline is three weeks old today and we have learned A LOT in these three short weeks. A LOT.

Here is what I’ve learned:

1. Caroline is amazing. She is perfectly healthy and happy and we are in love.

2. Newborn babies require a lot of diapers. Sometimes 4 within 15 minutes:

3. Michael is great at changing diapers. Really fast – maybe a little too fast.

4. Baby poop can be projectile. I have heard of projectile vomit or projectile spit up before, but I have now learned that it is possible for poop to shoot across the room as well.

5. Baby poop is difficult to remove from carpet. See #4 above.

6. A large percentage of the conversation in my life is now about baby poop.

7. Leaving the house is now a luxury.

8. Caroline is Houdini when it comes to swaddling. She can get her hands out of even the tightest of wrapping jobs.

9. The pacifier is my friend.

10. It is possible to do all kinds of things with one hand. (example: typing this blog post)

These past three weeks have been a whirlwind, but it has been unreal to be able to get to know Caroline and watch her grow (even just a little bit). I have learned that Michael is an AMAZING dad and I absolutely love watching him take care of her get to know her.

It’s a whole new world and we are loving it!

The crib is all put together thanks to Michael and Micah and we have all kinds of new clothes and things for her room thanks to baby showers thrown by amazing friends and family!

When Michael and I talked about having kids one day we always mentioned that we’d get a nice camera before that day came. It was sort of a deadline we made for ourselves in order to get great photos of little ones.

I kind of forgot about this ‘deadline’, but Michael had not. He surprised me at Christmas with the coolest camera I’ve ever held – I cried when I realized that he remembered our ‘deadline’ and that we would have this amazing camera for baby girl’s arrival.

Can’t wait to start taking pictures in a few weeks!

We stayed with friends, visited Biltmore, enjoyed amazing food, shopped, golfed (just the guys), and enjoyed the perfect weather.

Biltmore was crazy busy the day we went, but it was totally worth it. Michael and Michelle listened to the audio tour while Brad and I read the booklet about each room we walked through. What’s crazy is that we toured that ginormous house for 2 hours and only saw 2 bathrooms out of 43! It was built in the late 1800′s and it would put any house on ‘Cribs’ to shame.

These are the fun friends that we stayed with in Asheville. Josh showed us his new XBox Kinect -  you don’t need a control or remote. This next picture is Michael and Brad playing a game on Kinect. There was a lot of jumping involved. Hilarious.
